The current owner purchased the vehicle in South Africa in December 1996, in a sorry state and restored it to an excellent condition over the next four years. It was a family project involving a brother (an experienced mechanic and restorer of classic Triumphs) and husband & wife team.
An uncountable number of labour hours remain unrecorded but parts invoices from Moss London and TR Shop London have been preserved.
Some very early modifications include Italian-made Weber 40DCOE2 carburettors, restored with new parts in 2000 and serviced again in 2023.
At an unknown date prior to 1996, the original engine, specified on the BMIHT document, was replaced with engine number V106334E.
The vehicle was imported into New Zealand in 2002, when the family immigrated to Hawkes Bay, NZ from South Africa. It has been used only occasionally for Sunday drives in the summertime and so the condition has remained excellent.

New water pump fitted in 2020
New electronic distributor and coil assembly fitted in 2020
The engine was checked by local engine reconditioning specialists in December 2023.
